Update (5/21/25): added N-Central script to copy the files from server2012 to C:\IBM\ and then install Java.  It's: Run a Script>Copy IBM iAccess files and install Java

Note: you still need to create the shortcut and so on.

Copy files from Software share to local C:\IBM folder on the local machine.

             \\server2012\it$\Software\2025_Installers\IBM

Run the IBM Semeru Java Installer from the Java folder at C:\IBM\Java

Update (5/15/25): added ability to install IBM Java via N-Central.  Tools>Task Execution>Scripting>Add IBM Semeru Java

Create a shortcut on the Desktop for the ACS Session Manager program.

  • The /plugin=sm switch runs the session manager instead of the full ASC program
  • Run minimized to hide the CMD window.
  • (Optional).  This switch -Xmx2048m added after the /Plugin=sm will bump up the memory allocated for Java.

NOTE:  you will get a one-time license acceptance window to approve.

Run the ACS Session manager from the shortcut

Click "New Display Session"

Configure the settings for session name, destination address, protocol, workstation ID and screen size.

In the advanced settings, set the password prompting option.

This last step will ensure that the saved configuration file (user.hod) shows up in the ACS Manager window.  Save to:  C:\Users\USERNAME\OneDrive - Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative\Documents\IBM\iAccessClient\Emulator\username.hod

  • You can save to the desktop and run the shortcut (.hod) file from there, but I have found that this method usually leaves a CMD window open in addition to the ACS manager.  User's may find this confusing.

Completed install should show these versions:
